Workshop, 15th of December 2016, Cologne

"Urban development, architecture and housing in China"

On the initiative of the NRW Climate Protection Ministry, the NRW Building Ministry, EnergyAgency.NRW, NRW.International and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Cologne a workshop on the subject of "Urban development, architecture and housing in China" will be held on 15 December 2016. We wish to take this opportunity to cordially invite you to attend.

For some time now building suppliers, firms of architects, town planners, institutions and agencies from NRW have been doing the rounds in China to position their products and services in the field of urban development, architecture and housing. Topics such as eco-cities, climate-friendly urban development or energy-efficient construction, e.g. passive houses, also play a role here. The market in China has become more difficult. Even so, in our estimation there is still plenty of potential for achieving sustainable and forward-looking building and housing in China.

Our intention is to discuss with you whether and how we from NRW can launch an initiative to tackle this market with fresh dynamism.

Our workshop will begin with a chaired discussion with firms of architects and planners who already have experience in China. We want to try and formulate the major challenges, opportunities, barriers and prospects.

Then we wish to enter a discussion with all participants to work out the possible approaches to the Chinese market in the field of urban development, architecture and housing.
